Peridot transmission and Raman scattering

Top left: a collection of small (~5mm) tumble polished peridot pebbles photographed under white (CT 6500K) light.

Top right: The transmissions of a small cut peridot (~1mm depth) and one of the pebbles (3.5mm)

Bottom: Raman spectra of the two samples using a 532nm laser and a notch filter (orange and blue lines). The green line uses an orange (Schott OG570 3mm) filter instead of the notch. The passband of the orange filter is shown as the thin grey line.

Lines are seen with Raman shifts of (-cm^-1) 539, 586, 821, 852, 916, 959.
