Amber, visible and infrared transmission
This is the visible and infrared transmission of a sample of Baltic amber approximately 3mm thick. For comparison are shown the transmission of 60 microns depth of liquid water (thick blue line, scaled to a maximum of 80%) and that of a plastic, yellow photographic filter (1.6mm thick) made by Cokin (thin orange line, also scaled to 80%).
