Lapis lazuli white, 368nm-LED illumination

Lapis lazuli, including small pyrite inclusions, being illuminated by a 6500K colour temp. LED (left) and fluorescing under 368nm LED excitation (right). The orange glow is due to disulphide vibronic band emission. Notice that the disulphide and the lazurite etc. (blue) regions are distinct from one another.
