Turbomesodon relegans JM

A reef fish fossil, about 180mm long, found and prepared by Martin Ebert in 2008 in the Solnhofen limestones in Bavaria. These deposits were laid down from around 155 million years ago.

Photographed at the Jura museum in Eichstätt. The full resolution image available from 'sizes' shows the exquisite detail preserved in fossils from this source.
