Grackle 8316

A Grackle at the garden's bird bath. They love to snag peanuts from the bench, drop them in the bird bath, then hammer them with their beaks until they're soft enough to open. Crows do the same.

Pentax istDS DSLR with 50-200mm DA lens at 200mm, on-camera flash, handheld at ISO 400 and 1/180th second. Distance to bird is about 20 feet.
