Geology - Switch The Spectrum

From my dad and I's favorite section of the entire Glenbow Museum, the Treasures of the Mineral World wing, here are some minerals, which look rather plain under normal light (as shown below), only showing their true brilliant properties when a different spectrum of light shines upon them (activated by pressing a button on the side of the display case).

My dad and I, who are both keenly interested in nature and the natural sciences, have long held this to be one of our very favorite exhibits!

Oh, and sorry for the reflection from the other display on the right hand side there, as you can see from the bottom photo, under normal light, it was barely visible, but under the different spectrum, it became glaringly obvious!
