Death Valley Flow

Depositional formations like this temporary stream bed show up in Death Valley in unexpected places. Interesting to note that the material in the streambed appears different from the surrounding hills. This would suggest that the material in the streambed has a different density or weight than the surroundings and was carried by water differentially downhill.
