Neolithic Adze Heads

From the Aquitaine Museum in Bordeaux. These tool heads show characteristic Neolithic curves. They reflect more than utility, but a refined aesthetic sense that our ancestors developed some 8,000-10,000 years ago.

The wood shaft would have fit in these marvelously rounded holes.
