Where the Hand Squeezed

I struggled for three years to make pieces that showed no sign of human intervention. Some time last spring I realized that squeezing the clay offered the best surface expression of any method and that it provided a deep imprint of my own work. This is part of the "Protein" sculpture, very thick clay that I could barely squeeze between my hands.
