Rock Arrangement

A gorgeous natural arrangement of rocks at Death Valley. We consider this to be an "ancient" landscape but much of it was covered with water until the end of the last ice age. So much of the desert is actually "new"--in the vicinity of 10-12,000 years. These other worldly rocks are actually very much a part of this recent landscape. As they are washed down from higher ground in flash floods, freeze-thaw activity breaks the rocks apart, producing stunning abstract arrangements like this.
