Globular Nest...what wasp made this? (Explored)

Found this while dumping a wheelbarrow full of plant debris. It was built in a little cavity in the dead sticks and stems. The wasps or hornets were luckily nowhere to be found. I felt bad that the nest was disturbed, but left the area in a hurry fearing a sting.
