Infinite Fibonacci (the Golden Ratio) - Cross Section of Chambered Nautilus Shell

I couldn't decide whether to include a lengthy explanation of the Fibonacci sequence, complete with sample formulas, or share the entirety of Oliver Wendell Holmes' poem "The Chambered Nautilus," but I think I'll just let nature's most perfect approximation of a Fibonacci spiral speak for itself.

I'm bored tonight, and have had my eye on this shell I keep on my bookshelf for some time now. This is a quick and dirty experimentation; I may attempt something with a little better lighting, etc., later. Or not. By the way, click the pic to see on black--looks best that way!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend & getting some shooting time in!!

(p.s. Since somebody on Facebook took great offense at my use of the term Golden Spiral, yes, I KNOW it's not an exact Fibonacci spiral, just an approximation--this is not intended to be a lesson in math, just a photo I had a little fun goofing around with).
