Wensleydale Infrared
This is an infrared image looking east from the northern slope of Wensleydale.
At this wavelength, around 800nm, the organic material is bright and the rocks, by contrast, darker. The distant visibility is considerably greater than in the ultraviolet image and the clear blue sky stands out as dark in contrast to the high cloud.
I have toned this image sepia while the UV image is toned blue.
Note that the Rayleigh scattering in the IR image compared to the UV is approximately twenty times weaker while the aerosol scattering is less by a factor of about three.
