Skull
I was amazed at how much of the cranium was cartilage. The bone is dyed pink, and the cartilage is dyed blue. These are the skeletons of 1-2 day old mice pups that have been stained to show the cartilage and bone. These mice had a mutation that messed with the bone distribution.
The blue lines right underneath the neck are the cartilage that surrounds and protects the trachea.
