The Future is Now
Description: A British made Cierva Autogiro flies over Manhattan Island. The brainchild of Spanish aeronautical engineer Juan de la Cierva, the autogyro was developed in the early 1920s.
The National Archives' file relates to proposals within the Great Western Railway company to build what would now be called helipads at railway stations.
