Moon South Pole (before impact)

This is what the target crater "Cabeus A" currently looks like. In October NASA is planning to slam a 1000kg upper stage into this crater to see if there is frozen water present there.

Future images made by others might show a small plume originating from the impact.

EDIT: They changed the target crater, the new target is called Cabeus (without the A), this is slightly below the indicated point in this image.
