Solstice at the Analemma - University of Oregon

A University of Oregon community member looks on a the movement of a lamp post shadow on the ground on the day of the summer solstice. The lamp post, acting as a gnomon of a sundial, casts its shadow on a analemma painted in yellow on the plaza. When the shadow of the gnomon hits the painted annalemma its high noon, and noting where on the analemma the shadow hits can tell you the approximate month of the year and day of the month.
